This listing is for a real pressed plant and botanical specimen. Inspired by herbarium specimens, it is an artistic presentation of Golden smoke (Corydalis aurea) is a delicate annual wildflower with finely divided, fern-like blue-green leaves and clusters of tubular yellow flowers. Blooming in spring and early summer, it often creates bright splashes of color across open fields, rocky slopes, and disturbed soils. This hardy plant not only supports early pollinators but also helps stabilize soil in challenging habitats. Collected from the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico.
The plant is mounted on acid-free, high-quality (320 gsm), watercolor paper handmade in India. A collection label is also included with the specimen scientific name, common name, family name, location and date collected. The placement of the collection label varies on each piece, depending on best artistic spacing. Each flower is different, so each botanical sheet is different. The mounted wildflower you receive may look different from the one pictured in this listing.

The plant has been pressed for a minimum of 6 weeks in accordance with professional herbarium standards to maximize the quality and longevity of its color. Please note that, as with all dried plants, these are susceptible to fading or changing color over time. The speed and degree varies from plant to plant, but all will eventually take on a nice vintage look. Keep them out of direct sunlight and moisture to extend their color.
