American Vetch
American vetch (Vicia americana) is a climbing perennial vine with delicate tendrils, paired lance-shaped leaves, and clusters of purple to violet pea-like flowers. It enriches the soil by fixing nitrogen and serves as an important forage plant for wildlife, including deer and pollinators like native bees. It commonly grows in meadows, open woodlands, prairies, and along roadsides throughout much of North America.
The plant is mounted on acid-free, high-quality (320 gsm), watercolor paper handmade in India. A collection label is also included with the specimen scientific name, common name, family name, location and date collected. The placement of the collection label varies on each piece, depending on best aestetic spacing.
Each flower is different, so each botanical sheet is different. The mounted wildflower you receive may look different from the one pictured in this listing.
Sizes available:
A4 size (8.25×11.25”) - $45
This is an unframed piece. Unsure how to use Eufloria’s Botanicals to decorate your home? Read this blog for ideas.
The plant has been pressed for a minimum of 6 weeks in accordance with professional herbarium standards to maximize the quality and longevity of its color. Please note that, as with all dried plants, these are susceptible to fading or changing color over time. The speed and degree varies from plant to plant, but all will eventually take on a nice vintage look. Keep them out of direct sunlight and moisture to extend their color.
The plants were collected responsibly, sustainably, and honoring nature in the process. See this blog post for more information on my ethics on wildflower collection.
