Calendula
This listing is for a real pressed plant and botanical specimen. Inspired by herbarium specimens, it is an artistic presentation of Calendula (Calenula officinalis) which I grew and collected from my garden in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Calendula, often called pot marigold, is a bright flower with golden-orange petals arranged in a sunburst pattern. Traditionally, it has been used as a soothing remedy for skin irritations, wounds, and minor burns due to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Calendula is also valued for its ability to promote healing and is commonly found in salves, teas, and tinctures.
The plant is mounted on acid-free, high-quality (320 gsm), watercolor paper handmade in India. A collection label is also included with the specimen scientific name, common name, family name, location and date collected. The placement of the collection label varies on each piece, depending on best artistic spacing.
PLEASE NOTE: These are real pressed plants, each flower is different, so each botanical sheet is one-of-a-kind. The mounted specimen you receive may look different from the one pictured in this listing. Contact me if you want to select from the one(s) available at the time of order.
Sizes available:
A5 size (6×8.5”) - $35
A4 size (8.25×11.75”) - $45
This is an unframed piece. Read this blog for ideas to adorn your home with Eufloria’s botanicals.
The plant has been pressed for a minimum of 6 weeks in accordance with professional herbarium standards to maximize the quality and longevity of its color. Please note that, as with all dried plants, these are susceptible to fading or changing color over time. The speed and degree varies from plant to plant, but all will eventually take on a nice vintage look. Keep them out of direct sunlight and moisture to extend their color.
The plants were collected responsibly, sustainably, and honoring nature in the process. See this blog post for more information on my ethics on wildflower collection.
